Bear Lake 2016

We recently went on our yearly Bear Lake trip with Rory's family. I was extremely nervous about this trip and honestly kind of dreading it... Trips are hard with kids, period, the end! So I knew I needed to go on this trip with as much patience as I could possibly muster! We headed there on Tuesday afternoon. This time around we stayed in one of the little cabins at the KOA camp since I am still breastfeeding. The cabins have a full bed, then a set of bunk beds. It ended up that me and Ashton slept on the full bed, and Rory slept on one of the bunks, and Kyree slept in her pack n play. Tuesday it was just Rory's immediate family which was nice, it was really fun to just have time with them before all the extended family got there. We had dinner together and the kids got to play lots. Ashton had a great time with Brielle and Tayson the first days until other kids got there, after that he played with Aliyah. They like to play together but sometimes it doesn't go very well because they are both still learning to share and not take toys, all those fun things. Wednesday we were able to go to the beach with just the immediate family, again it was great to just be together like that. Ashton had a great time at the beach, he loved the water, LOVED the wave runners, and had a great time playing in the sand.

Kyree also LOVED the water. That was her happy place. We took a little pool and that was lots easier to let her play in. It was rough with her just because she couldn't just be put down to crawl or else we would've just been covered in sand. We somehow survived though, and once we figured out that she can eat the little puffs cereal now life got a little better.

We also spent Thursday and Friday at the beach. Back at camp there was a playground for the kids, a jumping pillow, and some huge slides. Ashton loved going over there and playing. The jumping pillow was his favorite, but if there were lots of big kids we couldn't go cause he is still learning how to handle himself on those. Overall we are glad we went, it was a rough week and to say we were glad to be home would be an understatement, but you gotta still get out and do stuff right?! And for a few more pics!

6 Months!

Kyree is 6 months!!

Kyree is now 6 months old! Time feels like its flown by, but at the same time sometimes I feel like life has gone pretty slow. Probably because I still get nervous to leave the house with two kids so we stay home and do nothing WAY more than we should. Hopefully since its summer time now I can get more brave and let us get out and do more fun stuff! Anyways, on to the 6 month pictures!

  • This sweet girl now eats her rice cereal pretty well. She more prefers the fruit that I give her with it, so we have to do a couple bites of just fruit, then a couple bites with rice cereal. I can't blame her, the rice cereal doesn't look that great. We need to start trying lunch too with her, I have the food, just need to start.
  • She still can't sit up by herself. She can sometimes go like 15-20 minutes and she is fine, but eventually she falls backwards, or to the side, so I still can always be on the floor helping her sit up.
  • She still is a huge mama's girl, she cries if I leave the room or hold Ashton, or if she sees me and I'm not holding her. She also sometimes has a case of stranger danger, didn't know they develop this that early, but here we are.
  • Her 6 months stats at the doctor... she is 14.8 pounds, which is the 17th percentile, she's in the 42nd percentile for height, and the 92nd percentile for head circumference. Both her and Ashton have had to grow into their heads!
  • She is a very distracted eater. She currently breastfeeds still and probably gets distracted about 20 times during her feedings. If lots of other people are in the room I may as well not even try to feed her, cause it probably won't happen.
  • She is still taking 3 naps a day and usually sleeps around hour and a half to two hours each time.
  • She is a pro in her walker now, she can mostly get where she wants to go and she loves it, until she decides she needs her mama.

And now for the few other pictures from the month that I've got.

Anyone who knows Ashton, knows that below is the usual scene either with me or Rory when we first get to a new location where there's people Ashton doesn't know. It takes usually about 10-20 minutes for this kid to warm up to anyone. If I go over to someone's house he will not walk into the door by himself, I have to carry him inside the door and hold him for a while or else we'll have a freak out.

The following pictures I just had to take lots. These two had a rough start, Ashton wasn't the biggest fan of adorable Aliyah, he was always worried that she would take his toys (heaven forbid). At Rory's cousins wedding this night was the first time I've seen them really play together, they were racing each other and just running around and having fun. I was so happy to see them finally becoming friends!!

Ashton loves to "fix his 4 wheeler", I think its pretty dang cute!

This lawn mower toy... best $15 I've spent. This is my favorite thing right now, getting to watch how excited he gets to "mow the lawn" with dad. He follow Rory around the lawn and is so excited about it!

Another one of my favorite things, watching these two interact. It always makes me hope that they are going to be amazing friends.

4 and 5 months old, and all the other happenings!

So I've been slacking, so we're gonna do 4 and 5 month updates together. To start with, here's her monthly pictures!

  • Kyree is now rolling over. She rolled over from belly to back a day after she was 3 months old. Then while we were on vacation in California she rolled from back to belly, so that was just a couple weeks ago. Sometimes she start rolling and gets pretty far from where she started, but that doesn't happen very often, maybe she forgets how well she could get around if she really wanted to.
  • She is getting pretty good at sitting up. I still have to always sit behind her, but I imagine in a few weeks she might be strong enough to sit all by herself. Really she would love to be running around with her brother already, but all in good time girl!!
  • She is extremely ticklish and usually will laugh every day for me when I tickle her. The only other person to get her to laugh so far has been Ashton, and he really doesn't have to do anything cool, he just has to give her some attention cause she loves him so much!
  • She tried rice cereal and didn't really care for it. We stopped for a while cause I thought it was causing lots of spit up, but I might have been wrong, so we're starting back up again tonight.
  • She is a pretty good mama's girl, if I'm in the room and she can see me, she usually wants me. She'll sometimes do this thing where certain people will look at her, or hold her, and she instantly gives her sad lip and starts crying.
  • She is finally taking a BINKI!!! And I absolutely love this fact! She is normally a pretty content girl, but it has gotten even better now that she takes the binki.
  • She still totally loves her baths! She gets so excited when we are turning the water on and getting her naked.
  • She's started taking naps in her crib in her own room. We are trying to start having her sleep in her room at night, its only been two nights though and its not going very good.

Jared and Hayley's wedding and California!!

So Jared and Hayley got married April 9th in the San Diego Temple! So we were able to take a trip out to California to be with them. So we left Monday and drove Monday and Tuesday, Rory had to leave on a business trip Wednesday so I stayed with Mark and Amy Wednesday and Thursday, then went to the house my parents rented on Thursday evening, picked Rory back up on Friday, and the wedding was Saturday, after the wedding we drove to Vegas, then the rest of the way home on Sunday. The trip was, well, not really a vacation it didn't seem. It was tough work. The drive actually went really good, the kids were so good!! The hard part was the hotels and Mark and Amy's house just because Rory wasn't there with me. Everyone was so extremely helpful though and I just feel like I owe the world to all the family that was around to help. Rory actually had to go on another business trip the week we got back so I went and stayed with my parents while he was gone. Jared and Hayley had a reception here that weekend so we were able to go to that. Now was are finally home and it feels so good to be back into our routine. Can't lie, i'm glad all the madness is over. Jared and Hayley's wedding was absolutely beautiful though, they seem really happy, and we are thrilled to have Hayley in the family! Here's a few pictures from everything, I really wish I had gotten lots more, but it was pretty insane so this will have to do.

My dad and Ashton are always buddies when we're together, usually takes him a while to warm up to my dad again, but once he does, they have a great time. Especially on this trip though, they were great buddies. When we were driving home I asked Ashton "are you excited to go to Ashton's house?" And he responded "No, go to grandpa's house!"

As you can see in these pictures, Laurie and Chelsea were such amazing helpers at the reception in Highland. Rory wasn't able to be there, so I was so grateful that Laurie and Chelsea jumped in and saved me!

And so more photos just from the last few months! Ready for photo overload?!
