6 Months!!

I'm a little late again on getting this posted. But our little man is 6 months now! Crazy how fast time flies.

 

Here's what Ashton's been up to lately:

• He can almost sit up all by himself. He's still a little tipsy so I have to sit right by him and catch him as he falls.

  
• He has learned to splash in the bath tub, thus bath time has become a little longer at night. He just has such a great time! He has also learned that he can get his hands/feet wet, then suck on them and get water. He again is going thru the peeing in the tub every night phase.
• He is pretty ticklish. He can sometimes turn it off though. So you have to catch him at the right moment.
• He loves eating his rice cereal and fruits/vegies. He makes humming sounds with each bite he takes. He eats from a spoon much better than he does his bottle, even after 6 months of drinking a bottle.
• He is definitely becoming even more a mama's boy. It's nice to know that he loves me, but sometimes its a little difficult if I need to get stuff done.
• His favorite toys right now are his binky, a set of towers Grammy gave to him, and cellphones.

That's all about our little guy for now. As for us, we found a house!! It should be completed within the next week (we hope). So we will be moving in soon. It was definitely worth waiting for this house, we absolutely love it! It is in east Layton and we are very excited to start this new adventure of owning our own house! About two weeks ago our sweet little niece was born. We were able to go up a couple days after she was born to visit. She was so tiny and just so sweet. We were lucky enough to be there when her big brother and sister got to see her in person for the first time and it was so precious. Such a cute family! 4 and 5 month post!

So I obviously missed a month. Our lives have been a little crazy so I've gotten a little behind. We actually moved in January so we've been busy packing, unpacking, house hunting, and getting adjusted to our new life here in Utah!! Rory was able to get a new job in North Salt Lake and started January 12th. We were sad to leave such an awesome company, as Barrick has been so good to us, but we are very excited to be back in Utah by family, and excited to join a new company. Rory has worked at the new job a few weeks now and really likes it! We are currently living with my parents in their basement while we look for a house. House hunting has been a little harder than I thought it would be. We've found a few houses that we've liked but it either hasn't worked out or it ended up that it just didn't feel right. So at this point we haven't really gotten anywhere. But hopefully we'll figure out something soon.

Ashton is now 5 months. Here are his 4 and 5 month pics...

 

I didn't realize that I had him in the same outfit for both those pics. HAHA!! And just a little bit about our little guy the last few months.

• He started rolling over. He first rolled over from tummy to back. Then he forgot how to do it for like 3 weeks. He finally did it again and got the back to tummy roll too, but then forgot how to do it again for a few weeks. I think he's finally got it down at this point. I have had to keep a closer eye on him now that he can roll around all over the place. :)
• He went thru a phase where he peed in the tub every time he got in.
• He finally is sleeping in his pack n play for all naps and at nighttime. It has been amazing, mostly for me. It took a few nights of crying it out, but it really wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be. I just think he was totally ready for it.
• He has started eating rice cereal. He wasn't sure what he thought of it at first. Now that we have added the fruit though he seems to like it and is starting to get the hang of the whole eating concept. He has occasionally fallen asleep while we've been feeding him. See below...

• He's getting close to sitting up. I think he enjoys sitting up much more than laying on the floor playing with his toys.
• He can finally sit up in his stroller thus is he much more fun to take to the store these days. :)
• I'm a little worried that he's becoming a mama's boy. Not sure how we can fix this. I would've thought this wouldn't happen especially now that we are around family all the time.
• He still struggles eating his bottle a lot of the time. Not sure what the issue is, maybe he just gets too distracted?
• Lately he's constantly been putting his top lip over his bottom lip. Or he has learned that if he makes noise and taps his mouth that it makes fun sounds.

3 Months and Thanksgiving!!

So Ashton is now 3 months old, so I wanted to share his 3 month pictures and just write a little about what he's been up to lately.

He's getting pretty big. So as for what he's been up to lately...

• He loves getting his clothes taken off, he actually laughed out loud on his 3 month birthday when I was taking his arms out of his sleeves. He thinks its pretty funny.
• He officially loves his baths now. Its much funner to bathe him now that he doesn't scream at us the whole time! :)
• He is very interested in his toys now and grabs them if you put them near his hands. He doesn't quite reach for them yet.
• He's decided again that he doesn't like sleeping in his own bed, that's something we are working on.
• He's doing much better at taking good naps somewhere other than our arms.
• He still drools like crazy, I hear that's something that he gets from his dad. :)

Well that's all I can really think of for now. As for our Thanksgiving, we went to Utah. We stayed with my parents for a night, then were with Rory's family the rest of the week. We had a great time! Thanksgiving was delicious and fun to see all of Rory's family. Ashton absolutely loved his cousins, he would just sit and watch them and they loved to come play with him. It was pretty adorable! Hopefully he and his cousins will be great friends! We were also able to bless Ashton while we were there. And we attended the Vernon Family Christmas Party. Ashton got to meet Santa for the first time. Now for picture overload!

Rory some holiday parties for work that he had to attend. They were Hawaiian themed so he got to dress up so of course I had to take a pic!

We couldn't believe how Aunt Meg's put Ashton to sleep. She was just holding him like this and he fell asleep. No crying or fighting sleep! This pretty much never happens!

Now for pics from Ashton's blessing! Thanks to everyone who came! Ashton did pretty good. He fell asleep right before the blessing, slept thru the blessing, then woke up right after! Rory did such a great job, I just thought it went really great!
